How to Squeeze Exercise into Your Day

How to Sneak Exercise into your Daily Routine (even as a busy parent!)

Activewear or now as it’s more commonly known ‘athleisure’ has recently become one of the major trends, a fusion of both fashion and function, that continues throughout the fashion seasons. Whether it’s walking to grab a coffee, a morning jog or a wake up and stretch yoga routine - it’s fascinating how many of us have started prioritising some kind of exercise to get our bodies moving (and keep ourselves sane) since being confined to our homes. There is no denying how much a killer set of gym-wear can boost our confidence, and one way to ensure we actually make it out the door to exercise.

If you’re struggling to motivate yourself to get moving, we have a few ways that you can seamlessly integrate into your daily routine.

Wear your workout clothes to work

Whether you’re working from home or in the office, throw on your activewear as soon as you wake up, drink a glass of water and apply your SPF. The chances are if you’re already in your workout clothes feeling good, you won’t want to skip out on your daily exercise and you definitely won’t want to waste a good outfit!

Listen to your smartwatch

If you wear a smart watch, then it’s time to stop ignoring it every time it makes that little buzz. Yes, it gets annoying, but it’s only trying to help. Getting up and having a little walk and stretch can make you feel so much more energetic and focused throughout the day.

Switch up Your workout environment

Let’s face it, if you’re still working out in your spare room facing the same four walls as you did during the first lock down, sometimes a change of scenery is all you need to feel motivated again. Get yourself outside with your mat and weights before you decide to give up – we believe you can do it!

Your dog needs a walk too

If you have a dog, then congratulations you’ve got yourself a workout buddy! Take advantage of this and go on a brisk walk or play fetch in the park, you’ll find that time will fly by and you’ll burn more calories than you think without even realising.

Take the stairs

This doesn’t need much of an explanation. If there are stairs and a lift – take the stairs, it’s one of the best ways to get in those steps.

Refresh your wardrobe

Sometimes, your sportswear needs a little love and affection too - ditch the worn-out gym set, and treat yourself and your wardrobe to a fresh set of activewear.
